Digital Money Forum Returning to CES for 2020

Next month, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will once again take over the Las Vegas Convention Center and several other venues along the Strip. Each year this conference shows off the latest and greatest developments in technology while also looking ahead to what’s on the horizon. Of course, with money getting a makeover in recent years and FinTechs on the rise, it only makes sense that financial technologies would also find a home at the annual event. In fact the Digital Money Forum will be making its fifth yearly appearance at CES in 2020 and has announced the line-up of panels and events.

The conference portion of the 2020 Digital Money Forum will be held on January 7th and feature panels on Libra, The Digital Revolution in Banking, FinTech bots and AI, crypto, and much more. Among the many panelists slated to appear are Larry King, Christa Steele, and Stahn Bharti. Those interested in attending can add the track to their CES registration for $400 or choose it as part of their Deluxe Conference Pass. Meanwhile the Digital Money Forum exhibition marketplace will remain through January 10th.

In a press release about the upcoming event, Living in Digital Times founder and Digital Money Forum producer Robin Raskin said, “This year’s overarching theme for the Digital Money Forum is the decentralization of finance. Whether you’ve been wondering why tech companies like Google, Apple and Uber are entering the world of banking, dabbling in Bitcoin or enamored with Libra you know that the center of power is shifting quickly.” Raskin added, “The arms race to move to new forms of transactions is on and the implications for both businesses and personal wealth is major.”

As mentioned, this will mark the fifth year the Digital Money Forum has taken place at CES. Past panelists include Jean Chatzky, former Venmo COO Michael Vaughan, Coin CEO and founder Kanishk Parashar, and several others. For more on the 2020 edition, visit the Digital Money Forum site.

While the term “consumer electronics” typically calls to mind high-def televisions, digital video cameras, and a variety of novelty items, the truth is that FinTech is more likely to have an impact on the lives of consumers. Thus it’s nice to see the industry being represented at CES once again thanks to the Digital Money Forum. Furthermore it will be interesting to hear what comes out of next month’s event and what we can expect from the year ahead.
