Allegiant Airlines’ Credit Card Gets New Name, Moves to Visa
The budget airline Allegiant is rebranding its rewards credit card, including swapping to a new payment network.
About the rebrand:
Previously known as the Allegiant World Mastercard, the airline’s co-branded offering will now go by the name Allways Rewards Visa. The “Allways Rewards” portion of the moniker matches the airline’s loyalty program, which it launched in 2021. As for the Visa part, that change notes that the card will now utilize the Visa network instead of Mastercard.
Despite the move to the Visa network, the Allways Rewards Visa continues to be issued by Bank of America.
Allways Rewards Visa features:
For an annual fee of $59, the Allways Rewards Visa does include a number of rewards and perks for flyers — which have not changed under the new card name. First, the Allways Rewards card earns 3 points per dollar spent on Allegiant purchases, including hotels, car rentals, and attraction tickets purchased via the airline.
Additionally, cardholders can earn 2x points on dining purchases and 1x points on all other purchases. Earned points can then be redeemed for Allegiant purchases at a value of 1¢ per point with no minimum redemption or blackout dates.
As for other benefits, cardholders enjoy complimentary priority boarding, priority check-in, and one free in-flight beverage when flying Allegiant and presenting their card. Another perk is the “Buy one, get one free airfare” — which applies when booking vacation packages from Allegiant that include 4 or more hotel nights or 7 or more rental card days on the same itinerary. To book this offer, cardholders will need to call Allegiant Members Services.
Finally, the Allways Rewards Visa also has a welcome bonus. Currently, new cardholders can earn 15,000 bonus points (worth $150) after spending $1,000 in purchases on the card within their first 90 days.

My thoughts:
Personally, I don’t have much of a preference between Visa and Mastercard, so that part of the update doesn’t impact me much. As for the name change, I happen to like the “Allways Rewards” title — even if my spell check is consistently confused by it. So, with no other material changes to the card, I guess I’ll call this one a very minor win. Those who fly Allegiant Airlines at least twice a year will likely see value from the Allways Rewards Visa thanks to the complimentary priority boarding and free beverage perks. So, for an annual fee of just $59, it may be worth giving the card a shot if you plan on traveling to where Allegiant flies.
