Visa Adds New Cardholder Benefits to U.S. Consumer Credit Cards

When most consumers shop for a new credit card, they likely look at the rewards and perks that the specific card has. However, in addition to these benefits, customers may not be aware that their card could unlock additional privileges. For example, Visa has just announced new offers available to a number of credit card customers. These new benefits come from three brands: Shipt, Skillshare, and Sofar Sounds. While some perks will extend to all Visa consumer cardholders in the U.S., others are specific to those with Visa Signature or Visa Infinite cards.

First up, all Visa cardholders will now be able to enjoy one free month of Shipt membership followed by three months of membership at 50% off. Those with Visa Signature cards will get three months of free Shipt membership followed by nine months for 50% off while Visa Infinite users will get up to three years of Shipt membership for free. With this perk, customers will be able to get free delivery on orders over $35. Currently, Shipt offers delivery on items from 130+ retailers (including Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS, Target and others) in more than 5,000 cities across the country.

Next, the online learning platform Skillshare is offering free membership trials to Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cardholders. Both card levels will give customers access to more than 30,000 classes for free for three months. After that, Visa Signature cardholders will receive 20% off annual renewals while Visa Infinite customers can enjoy 30% off.

Finally, Sofar Sounds — which hosts unique and intimate live music events — will bring exclusive presales and other benefits to Visa users. All U.S. Visa consumer credit card customers will be able to take advantage of seven-day Visa Exclusive Presale to Sofar events as well as receive a free ticket with the purchase of one or more tickets to a show during the presale window (with a limit of two free tickets per year). However, the two-free-ticket-per-year limit is lifted for Visa Signature and Visa Infinite customers. Currently, this offer is valid through September 23rd, 2023.

In a press release about the added benefits, Visa’s Head of Product for North America Brian Cole stated, “We’re always looking to bring diverse and desirable experiences to Visa cardholders in ways that help create value in how they shop every day.” He added, “These new benefit providers enhance our refreshed credit benefits portfolio to deliver special access for Visa consumer credit cardholders.”

Of course, it’s not just Visa customers that may want to check on what their card has to offer. Earlier this year, Mastercard added DoorDash perks to its World and World Elite Mastercards. With these benefits coming in addition to what the specific card itself boasts, it behooves cardholders of all stripes to see what other offers they may be able to take advantage of. On that note, for more information on all of these offers, be sure to visit the Visa cardholder benefits page.
